ROUGING

Rouging in WFI (Water for Injection) systems refers to the formation of reddish-brown to dark violet iron deposits on the interior surfaces of stainless steel equipment, particularly in pharmaceutical and biotech industries. This phenomenon is a type of corrosion and is primarily caused by the oxidation of iron in the stainless steel, especially in the presence of hot WFI (above 60°C). Rouge can detach from the surfaces and contaminate the WFI, potentially affecting the quality and safety of pharmaceutical products. The CANTY InFlow™ detects these particles in real time, quantifying the amount of rouge being generated, providing an objective measure of system performance.

SINGLE USE PERFUSION

FERMENTATION

Biopharmaceutical fermentation is a process used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce a wide range of drugs and other therapeutic substances by cultivating microorganisms or cells in a controlled environment. WFI – WATER FOR INJECTION

In Water for Injection (WFI) or Sterile Water applications, it is vital to measure and quantify the amount of foreign particles such as solids, rouge, droplets, or biofilm in a given volume to ensure the product meets certain purification standards. USP 788 / 1788 is the accepted set of guidelines for testing and concentration limits for particulate matter in injectables.

The CANTY InFlow™ analyzer utilizes dynamic imaging technology that measures the solids, droplets, gas, and any foreign materials, passing through an inline flow cell. CELL ANALYSIS

The Cell Analysis system is able to determine the condition of a cell by its appearance. This enables real time analysis without having to employ additive reagents. NON-CONTACT LEVEL & FOAM CONTROL
