SINGLE USE PERFUSION

Single-use perfusion involves using disposable bioreactors for continuous cell culture processes, where fresh medium is constantly supplied while waste is removed, allowing for high cell densities and product yields. This approach combines the benefits of perfusion culture with the advantages of single-use technology, such as reduced risk of contamination and faster setup times. CANTY Single Use Analyzer has been engineered to analyze small volume samples for particle size, shape and concentration in single use systems to ensure high productivity and improved product quality.

STONE DETECTION

On a float glass line with glass coating taking place, an ExtremeTemp™ camera is mounted in the upper region of the tin bath, to not only provide an unrivalled view inside the process, but also to automatically detect the presence of foreign objects (stones from refractory, insulation etc.) on the glass surface. If undetected, these foreign objects move downstream where they can become lodged on the coater, and cause scratches and imperfections on the glass as it passes by.

REBAR / ROUND BAR LENGTH

Using image analysis CANTY can track the position of rebar or round bar with accuracy to within 1/2”. A tracking tool is displayed on the operator screen image at all times, to allow the user to visually verify what point is being tracked by the software. Control outputs are available to the DCS via OPC, 4-20mA and Modbus TCP/IP.

FERMENTATION

Biopharmaceutical fermentation is a process used in the pharmaceutical industry to produce a wide range of drugs and other therapeutic substances by cultivating microorganisms or cells in a controlled environment. Canty imaging systems significantly enhance fermentation processes by providing detailed, real-time insights into the culture environment by measuring key parameters such as cell size, concentration, and viability directly during fermentation. The systems ensures accurate counts and size distributions down to 0.7 microns (or 0.3 microns with phase contrast), assess cell health, and monitor foam levels.

WFI – WATER FOR INJECTION

In Water for Injection (WFI) or Sterile Water applications, it is vital to measure and quantify the amount of foreign particles such as solids, rouge, droplets, or biofilm in a given volume to ensure the product meets certain purification standards. USP 788 / 1788 is the accepted set of guidelines for testing and concentration limits for particulate matter in injectables.

The CANTY InFlow™ analyzer utilizes dynamic imaging technology that measures the solids, droplets, gas, and any foreign materials, passing through an inline flow cell. Analyzing these particles continuously produces particle count and concentration data which can better inform decisions for downstream purification or upstream process control, as well as ensuring guideline compliance.
